Alex Williams
A boy recklessly set on doing what he thinks is right at his own expense. As the middle-child of a family immersed in supernatural affairs, Alex has a life-long contact with all sorts of paranormal phenomena. Despite his parents and siblings’ attempts at leading the boy to carry a life away from the horrors of their duties, Alex feels guilty for his family’s situation, which strained their relationship over the years.
Throughout his childhood, Alex would struggle to form any lasting friendships with other kids due to constantly getting involved in paranormal incidents that’d cause him to switch schools. Eventually, he developed a reserved attitude out of a feeling he’s undeserving of having friends and a danger to those he could care about.
In his second year of high-school, an incident pushed him to move to the city of Liminaria. There he formed an unlikely friendship with Mary Marshall, an awkward girl who got caught up in the supernatural world. And after bonding with the Geist Driver, a microphone possessed by the spirits of Pierce Heavens and Yuki Utagi, he’s been trying to balance his school life with the paranormal.

Relationships
Despite secretly longing to not be alone, Alex’s hesitation towards making friends often causes him to push himself away from people. But through his initial “partnership” with Mary, he found comfort in the girl, opening up to her little by little.
Even with their strained relationship due to Alex’s recklessness, he is still close friends with his older sister. Abigail acts more as a protective figure towards Alex, keeping him away from any conductor-related business to the best of her abilities.
Due to his wariness of adults, Alex initially had an awkward first impression of Komi. But over time, he warmed up to her company.
The two share a brother-like dynamic, with Pierce taking it upon himself to give Alex the push he needs to fight tooth and nail for his own life.
Although Yuki comes off pretty dry towards Alex, she cares for him in her own way while Alex has a hard time making sense of her attitude. Every now and then, Yuki likes to take some peeks at the world of the living through Alex’s daily life.
